These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Phonic ID platform (the “Service”), operated by Be World Class Education Ltd (Company Number: 14891465), trading as Phonic ID, registered in the United Kingdom.
By accessing or using the Phonic ID platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions

“We”, “Us”, “Our” means Be World Class Education Ltd.

“You”, “Your” refers to users of the platform, including school staff, pupils, and parents (where applicable).

“School” refers to the institution with an active account that manages its use of the platform.

“Pupil Data” means any information submitted or generated relating to a student user of the platform.
2. Eligibility and Role of Schools
Phonic ID is a service designed for use by educational institutions. All pupil access must be managed, approved, or initiated by a school.
By creating a school account or accessing the platform on behalf of a school, you confirm that:

You have authority to act on behalf of the school;

You accept responsibility for pupil and staff access;

You are responsible for compliance with applicable data protection laws, including obtaining appropriate consent if required.
3. Use of the Service
Phonic ID is provided to support early literacy screening and data-driven intervention in schools. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with its intended educational use.
You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer or copy any part of the platform;

Share login credentials with unauthorised parties;
-
Use the platform to harass, exploit or harm others;
-
Upload false or misleading data.
4. Account Management
Schools may create and manage pupil and staff accounts.
You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials;

Ensuring the accuracy of all data entered;
-
Informing us of any suspected unauthorised access or misuse.
We reserve the right to suspend access in the event of misuse or breach of these Terms.
5. Data Protection
Phonic ID processes data on behalf of schools. Our Privacy Policy outlines the types of data we process, the purpose of processing, and our data protection commitments.

Schools remain the data controller of pupil data.

We act as a data processor under the UK GDPR.

Schools are responsible for determining the data they choose to collect and must ensure they have a lawful basis for doing so.

6. Subprocessors and Hosting
Our only subprocessor is Google (Firebase), which provides:

Secure user authentication

Real-time syncing

Encrypted cloud storage
Google is certified under ISO 27001 and fully GDPR-compliant.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, code, branding, and intellectual property associated with Phonic ID remains the property of Be World Class Education Ltd. Use of the service does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property.
Schools may use Phonic ID for educational purposes only.
8. Availability and Support
We aim to provide continuous access to the platform but cannot guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the platform if:

A user or school violates these Terms;

The subscription or service agreement expires or is cancelled;

Required by law or to protect data integrity.
Upon termination, all data will be deleted in accordance with our Data Retention Policy unless otherwise required by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses;

Any decision made by a school based on the results provided by the platform;
-
Temporary service interruptions or data loss outside of our control.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will notify schools via email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
